Licht, bier, bankje is a series of brooches based on places and moments from my everyday life. Photographs of these places are printed onto metal plates and cut into different shapes, framing small parts of the original image.
The plates can be placed inside transparent brooches and worn on the body, or returned to their wooden holders when they are not being worn. This gives each image two places to exist: as a piece of jewellery and as a small object displayed at home.
The project started from the simple idea of taking a place I like with me, using photography and jewellery as a way of carrying a small part of my surroundings.
